When you are a business owner, you have to be a jack of all trades. Unless you hired a marketing coordinator or rely on a marketing department, you need to know a little bit about everything when it comes to promoting your business. On the flip side, if you are a creative or work in the marketing field, it’s crucial to have a few tools on deck to use.
Are you planning for this upcoming year? These tools will come in handy!
Here are my top 6 favorite tools for businesses and other creatives:
1. Email Marketing
The most important thing you can do for your business is to stay in touch with clients and customers – especially if you rely on referrals or want to build a following!
Mailchimp is my go to platform for all things email marketing. While I don’t think having a mailing list is 100% necessary for every single entrepreneur or business, it is important for a lot of businesses.
2. Website Hosting
Designing and developing websites are one of my favorite things to do! Digital storefronts are so important for any business. In fact, most clients and consumers will find you online before visiting your storefront.
Are you looking for a website host or wanting to try your hand at designing your own website? I highly recommend, Flywheel! This is a platform I have been using for every single website the past three years. It’s where I host my own sites too.
3. Website Domain Provider
Are you building a website? Need to purchase a domain to connect to your website and make it live? I highly recommend Hover for your website domain.
This is one of the easiest platforms to navigate. I have found they also have a much shorter propagation time so your website is live quicker.
4. Adobe Color Wheel
The wonderful world of color! Finding the right shade can be a daunting task. As a designer, you may have a general idea of what color you are looking for but haven’t come across the right hue. If you’re just trying to find one for yourself, the options can be overwhelming. One of my favorite tools is the Adobe Color Wheel.
You can search by general names like ‘blue’ or find palettes when you use search words like ‘forest’. If you’re starting from scratch, look through trends for curated color palettes.
This is a super helpful site to use when looking for the right color!
5. Stock Photography
Visual media is a key asset when it comes to marketing and design in general. At times, it conveys what words cannot. As saturated as the market is today, great visuals are an absolute must. Combined with top-notch graphic design, the possibilities are endless!
